Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) consumers of twin cities have urged government to devise mechanism to check substandard quality of gas being supplied to them in the twin cities.

“I do not know if any mechanism exists to check the quality of gas at CNG stations in the twin cities - if exists, it should be activated to check the standard of gas,” a car driver Muhammad Asif told this agency.

He said that CNG stations are looting consumers by filling less gas that too at reduced pressures. A Suzuki driver Muhammad Ajmal said he has noticed that his vehicle gives different mileage, if he get his vehicle filled with CNG from two different filling stations.

His other colleagues at Raza Bazaar’s Suzuki terminal posing question that where should they go for registering their complaints about the low quality of gas at CNG stations being supplied to them.The mechanic of the vehicles in Islamabad’s ‘Khadda’ market said that low quality gas also affects the performance of engine of the vehicles.
