KARACHI: Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister Sharmila Farooqui, while lauding the federal government’s announcement to issue special identity cards to disabled people, said that Pakistan is going to become a social welfare state, like the European countries. According to a statement issued here on Sunday, she said that it is part of the Pakistan People Party’s manifesto to provide maximum facilities to citizens. “No doubt, disabled people are part of the society and deserve to receive more facilities from the government than normal people,” she was quoted as saying in the statement. She maintained that the issuance of such special CNICs would help resolve several problems faced by special people. She expressed her satisfaction that special people would be able to easily acquire the NCRDP certificate by the Ministry of Social Welfare, and provincial and district social welfare departments. ppi
