Karachi: Commander 5 Corps and Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Executive Board President Lt Gen. Shahid Iqbal visited the DHA Central Library (DCL) on Saturday to review research-oriented facilities available there.
DHA Administrator Brig. Khalid Tirmizi briefed the Corps Commander about various facets of the library. The Corps Commander stressed the need to patronise and promote library networks in the metropolis by opening more public libraries accessible to everyone.
The Corps Commander directed the DCL’s management to make arrangements for keeping DCL open seven days a week and 365 days a year. He also asked the DCL to work towards developing a virtual library which could be accessed through the internet.
The Corps Commander asked the DHA administrator to plan the establishment of a modern state-of-the-art library in the upcoming DHA City on Super Highway.
