The Capital Development Authority (CDA) always boasting of taking action against encroachments on footpaths by vendors, but the activities still go unchecked.

While the people of federal capital have welcomed the steps initiated by the concerned authorities against encroachment of footpaths and other public places by vendors.

Nasir Khan, A resident of Sector G-9 said that shopkeepers are misusing footpaths in the busy markets. It is not only causing inconvenience to the pedestrians, but also poses threat to their lives as some shops selling glass items dump glass pieces and other waste on the footpath,” he said.

Different places including Peshawar Mor, Karachi Company, Faizabad and other are still not cleared from the encroachers.

An official of the CDA when contacted said the concerned authorities have strictly warned the vendors, adding that CDA also confiscated goods of the vendors from footpaths.
