LAHORE: All cities of northern Punjab will benefit from the timely completion of Sagian Interchange, Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif has said.
He praised the role of the departments concerned in the timely completion of the project and said it would prove a
milestone in the progress
of the province.
He said the country could be transformed in accordance with the ideals of Quaid-e-Azam through hard work, dedication and commitment.
He said this while awarding shields to officers involved in the Sagian Interchange project at the CM’s Secretariat on Friday.
The CM said besides providing education, health and other basic facilities, the government was also focusing on infrastructure development and taking initiative on a number of projects. He said infrastructure development would increase the rate of progress across the province and generate new jobs. He said a comprehensive policy had been adopted to avoid delays in development schemes and all departments concerned had been directed to ensure timely completion of uplift projects.
Liberty parking: The CM said the Liberty Parking Plaza would be completed this year to help streamline traffic system and provide better facilities to the citizens. He said the government had to bear a loss of billions of rupees due to delays in the implementation of development schemes in the past and there was hardly any project which was completed within its timeframe. He said the government has ensured transparency in public spending and a third-party audit system has been introduced in the implementation of all mega projects. He said Multan Road project would be taken up and a standard would be maintained in its construction.
