AN ADDITIONAL district and sessions judge on Saturday granted bail to two stage actresses, Uzma Yaseen aka Anjuman Shahzadi and Hina Sheikh, in a case of performing obscene dances on stage.
The judge granted bail to the actresses on furnishing two bail bonds each of Rs 50,000. They were arrested on Friday by Qila Gujar Singh police allegedly for performing obscene dances in stage dramas.
However, their counsels took the plea before the court that the actresses were not nominated in the FIR and the police arrested them for not fulfilling their illegal demands.
At this, the investigating officer produced the CDs of obscene dances performed by the accused actresses and informed the court that they were arrested following the Lahore High Court’s ruling against such immoral activities.
While talking to the media outside the court, both the actresses negated the allegation levelled against them, saying that they were peaceful artistes and never violated the law.
Responding to a query, Anjuman Shahzadi alleged that the case was registered against Deedar, Sidra, Naseebo Lal, Nooran Lal, Noor, Megha and Hina Shaheen but police did not arrested them.
Meanwhile, another AD&SJ granted pre-arrest bail to Deedar and abovementioned stage actress and dancers in the same case.
