RAWALPINDI: The Punjab government will construct an 11-storey parking plaza in Murree at a cost of Rs 1.549 billion within a year. This was informed to a high-level meeting chaired by Punjab Secretary Communication and Works Fawad Hasan Fawad on Monday. The meeting was informed that the parking plaza would cover 546,000 sqft and accommodate 1,136 vehicles. It was told that ‘rest area’ would be constructed on the first floor while 36 shops, emergency room, first aid room and a restaurant would also be the part of the plaza. It was told that construction of the plaza would be completed in one year in four phases and fine would be imposed on the construction firm if it failed to meet the deadline. The meeting was attended by Rawalpindi Commissioner Zahid Saeed, Punjab Chief Engineer Khalid Mehmood, Superintendent Engineer Highways Abbas Khan, representatives of construction firms and senior officials of district administration
