LAHORE: Skilled manpower can bring revolution in the industry, agriculture and other sectors and institutions of technical education will have to play an effective role in this regard, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Monday. He was addressing a meeting held in connection with adopting the future course of action for the promotion of technical education in Punjab and reviewing the performance of the Punjab Vocational Training Council (PVTC) and Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. Shahbaz said that skilled manpower needed to be prepared according to the needs of the industry to put the country on the road to progress. He directed setting up of vocational training institutes in 47 tehsils of the province, which lacked such institutions. He also directed the TEVTA chairman to formulate a comprehensive roadmap within three days with regard to promotion of technical education throughout the province. staff report
