LAHORE: Lub Gas, an LPG marketing company, has awarded a contract to US-based Specialty Process Equipment Corporation (SPEC) for setting up Pakistan’s largest mid-country LPG filling plant near the city.

A Lub Gas spokesman said here on Saturday that the new filling plant would have 3,000 metric tonnes of storage capacity, allowing significant operational flexibility to take advantage of low import prices, and sustainably develop the LPG autogas market.

The autogas station would also provide up to 100 metric tonnes per day of affordable produce to Lahore and surrounding areas, he maintained.

“LPG autogas stations are a globally-tested solution to eradicate hazardous and illegal LPG decanting and to assure consumers of stable prices in a professionally-sound environment, and we urge the City District Govt of Lahore and OGRA to remove impediments in the path of this market segment,” said the spokesman.
