LAHORE: Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday directed the Investigation senior superintendent of police (SSP) to track the poets and others involved in the preparation of CDs of vulgar songs sung by Naseebo Lal. The judge also directed the SSP to suggest under which provision of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) such people could be prosecuted. The judge directed the SSP to file his report until July 20. Earlier, Naseebo Lal appeared in court and said she was forced to sing vulgar songs. The judge was hearing a petition against Naseebo Lal and Nooran Lal for singing vulgar songs. The petitioner, Asif Mehmood Khan, said the departments concerned in connivance with some other criminal elements were not only violating the law and the constitution, but also spoiling the integrity, sanctity and morality of society. He said Naseebo and Nooran, with the connivance of other respondents, were busy in making and singing illegal, indecent and immoral songs. He said the shelter given by the government to these singers under the certification of the Motion Pictures Ordinance 1979 was illegal and was against the integrity and sanctity of society. staff report
