Pakistan’s first indigenous JF-17 Thunder production started

KAMARA (SANA): Pakistan has begun serial production of JF-17 Thunder fighter aircraft at Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Kamara and first indigenously produced plane will fly at the end of this year.
Air Chief Martial Rao Qamar Suleman launched assembly production plant of the aircraft on Tuesday here.
Speaking on the occasion, the Air Chief said the indigenous production of JF-17 Thunder is a major step towards the long term goal of self reliance.
This is an historic event for Pakistan that it has joined the elite nations having the capability of indigenously manufacturing the modern fighter aircraft.
The Air Chief said Pakistan Air Force is the only Air Force in the world of having the capability of developing and producing fighter aircraft which is a milestone in the advancement of modern technology despite financial constraints.
He said the production of JF-17 is a symbol of long lasting friendship between Pakistan and China. He said it was the result of friendship with China that enabled us to develop and manufacture such a modern aircraft which will replace the absolute fleet of PAF.
He said we are heading significantly towards the goal of self reliance which was not an easy task that demands high devotion, finances and expertise. He said the JF-17 Thunder is an advanced multirole combat aircraft strategically designed through joint Pak-China efforts to address the specific needs of Pakistan Air Force.
Rao Qamar Suleman said the government of Pakistan made a heavy investment in this programme and provided every financial assistance and training facility of modern equipment to the technicians and engineers of PAF.
While describing the significance of Air power, he said that JF-17 aircraft will be the mainstay of PAF’s operational capability enabling PAF to conduct day and night multi-role operations. He said this capability has become imperative to be achieved especially in the prevailing global and regional situation.
The Air Chief Martial said PAF will roll out four to six JF-17 Thunder aircrafts at the end of this year and twenty-five every year.
He lauded the efforts of engineers and technicians of Aircraft Manufacturing Factory and Kamra Avonics and Radar Factory who had worked relentlessly for the last several years to bring this dream to reality.
Earlier, Chairman Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Kamra, Air Marshal Farhat Hussain Khan presented an appraisal of the project activities. He specifically mentioned the state-of-the-art machines and equipments being inducted for the project and said that these technologies are unprecedented in country and represent quantum leap in the technological ability of Pakistan Aeronautical Complex.
He also said that over three thousand technicians have been extensively trained on aviation-related technologies which besides enhancing the pool of skilled manpower created job opportunities for the ambitious youth of the country.

پاکستان میں لڑاکا طیارے جےایف 17 ’تھنڈر‘ کی تیاری کے شروع ہوگئی ہے۔ پاکستان میں بننے والا پہلا جے ایف 17 طیارہ رواں سال میں فضائیہ میں شامل ہو جائے گا۔
جے ایف تھنڈر طیارے کی پاکستان میں پیدوار کا افتتاح کرتے ہوئے فضائیہ کے سربراہ راؤ قمر سلمان نے کہا کہ پہلا طیارہ رواں سال میں فضا میں محو پرواز ہوگا۔
جے ایف 17 کی شمولیت کے ساتھ پاکستان کی فضائیہ ایسے ہدف کو بھی نشانہ بنانے کی صلاحیت حاصل کر لے گی جو جہاز سے نظر نہ آرہا ہو۔ جے ایف تھنڈر میں بی وی آر (ْْBeyond visual range)میزائل نظام نصب کیا جائےگا۔
اس نظام کےحصول کے ساتھ ہی پاکستانی فضائیہ کی بھارت کے مقابلے میں بی وی آر نظام کے حصول کی دیرینہ خواہش پوری ہو جائےگی۔ بھارتی فضائیہ کے پاس یہ ٹیکنالوجی طویل عرصے سے موجود ہے۔
کثیر جہتی صلاحیتوں کا حامل یہ لڑاکا طیارہ چین اور پاکستان کے اشتراک سے بن رہا ہے۔ اس کا ڈیزائن اور ڈھانچہ پاکستان میں تیار کیا جائےگا جبکہ انجن روس اور ایوئینیکس چین سے درآمد کئےگئے ہیں۔ جہاز پر نصب گولہ بارود پاکستانی اور بندوق اور توپیں چینی ساختہ ہوں گی۔
ماہرین کی نظر میں جے ایف 17غیر معمولی صلاحیت کا حامل نہیں ہے لیکن ایک سے زیادہ وجوہ کی بنا پر یہ طیارہ پاکستانی کی فضائی حدود کی حفاظت کے لئے اہم ترین ہتھیار بننے کی صلاحیت رکھتا ہے۔
ایئر وار کالج میں استاد ریٹائرڈ کموڈور جمال حسین کے مطابق اس جہاز کے ذریعے کسی دشمن ملک پر حملہ کر کے اسے تہس نہس نہیں کیا جا سکتا لیکن ملک کے اندر بڑی تعداد میں بی وی آر نظام سے لیس طیاروں کی موجودگی ملکی دفاع کی ضروریات کو پورا کرتی ہیں۔‘
اس جہاز کی دوسری اہم بات اس کی قیمت اور دستیابی ہے۔ تیسرے درجے (تھرڈ جنریشن) کا یہ جہاز اسی نسل کے دنیا میں بننے والے دیگر جہازوں سے نصف قیمت میں تیار ہو رہا ہے۔
تکنیکی لحاظ سے تھنڈر ایک اوسط درجے کا طیارہ ہے۔ جسے بعض ماہرین تیسرے درجے کا جہاز ماننے کے لیے بھی تیار نہیں ہیں لیکن ان طیاروں کی موجودگی سے پاکستان کی فضائیہ عددی لحاظ سے اپنی حریف سمجھی جانے والی بھارتی فضائیہ کی ایک حد تک ہم پلہ تصور کی جا رہی ہے۔
پاکستانی فضائیہ کے طویل المعیاد منصوبوں میں اس طیارے کی بیرون ملک فروخت بھی شامل ہے۔ فضائیہ کے ایک ذریعے کے مطابق بنگلہ دیش، کویت اور سعودی عرب نے تھنڈر میں دلچسپی ظاہر کی ہے۔ ان تینوں ممالک کی فضائی افواج کے سربراہ کامرہ میں اس جہاز کی تیاری کے مراحل اور آزمائشی پروازیں بھی ملاحظہ کر چکے ہیں۔
