Anti-car theft devices introduced

RAWALPINDI: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Nasir Khan Durrani on Tuesday introduced Car Safety Plan (CSP) to control rising car theft incidents in Rawalpindi district.

A press statement said that anti-car lifting cell (ACLC) of police had been directed to suggest reliable gadgets to car owners, so that their vehicles could be prevented from being taken away.

It said that keeping in view the local requirement, Superintendent of Police Khurram Shahzad and ACLC Inspector Muhammad Irshad developed an indigenously designed product called ‘metal clutch bar’.

The metal bar first clasps cultch with the brakes and then it is locked firmly making it difficult for the intruder to unlock it in short span of time, the press statement said, adding, the bar was adjustable to the size of all cars.

It said the Rescue-15, Liaquat Bagh, officials would guide the public about the CSP. Different other gadgets have also been put on display at security desk of the Rescue-15 Centre.

An active participation of people can help police curb the car lifting incidents, the news release said.

It said the RPO had directed the ACLC to launch an extensive campaign to make people aware of such gadgets for making their cars safe and secure.
