‘Human trafficking from Islamabad airport impossible’

RAWALPINDI: Human trafficking is not possible from Islamabad International Airport due to advanced immigration system, claimed Khalid Khattak, assistant director immigration.

Talking to Daily Times on Sunday, he said that Computerised Immigration System (CIS) had been installed at the airport to avoid incidents of human trafficking.

He said immigration staff was trying to provide best services to passengers.

Khattak said the CIS could easily detect forgery in travel documents. He said immigration staff had been divided into two shifts of 12 working hours each. In each shift 35 immigration officials facilitate thousands of passengers, he added.

Khatak said the staff had been directed to deal with passengers respectfully.

Two SHOs appointed: City Police Officer (CPO) Rao Muhammad Iqbal Khan has appointed two new station house officers (SHOs), Online reported.

Nazir Ahmed Chaudhry has been appointed as Civil Lines SHO, while Mehar Zulfiqar Ahmed as Waris Khan SHO.
