Islamabad: Capital Development Authority Wednesday reiterated to launch a grand scale operation against the illegally established slums in the federal capital, also posing security threats.

According to a CDA official, some slum dwellers have migrated from other cities to Islamabad and illegally occupied many places in different sectors. “No one will be allowed to occupy the precious land assets of the federal capital. We will remove them from here at any cost,” said the official.

Meanwhile, the slum dwellers staying on the median of a road in Sector G-7 demanded the Authority of a proper living space in the city. Talking to APP, one of the residents said they were settled at Rawal Dam from the last one and half years but CDA demolished their huts. They urged the concerned authorities to take action in this regard and provide a proper living space to them.

A resident of Sector G-7 slum, Nasreen Bibi, said they are facing various problems and have been unable to go to work for the last two weeks. She said it is their longstanding demand from the authorities to provide a proper space for huts to reduce their problems.
