The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Friday demolished nine illegal houses, which were a hurdle in development work at the Saidpur village.

The CDA enforcement staff completed the operation cleanup without facing any resistance from encroachers.

CDA Enforcement Director Faiz Muhammad told ‘The News’ that they have completed a survey of unauthorised houses in the village and the area would be cleared in near future.

Meanwhile, the CDA had also started an operation against government quarters and flats where residents have constructed additional rooms and other structures on the government land. “We had already served notices on these encroachers,” the official said. In this connection, some rooms were demolished in sectors G-9 and G-10. In another operation, a large number of encroachments were removed from Lehtrar Road near Khanna Bridge and encroached goods were confiscated by the enforcement wing.
