SHO arrested for offering bribe to SP

LAHORE
OPERATIONS SSP Ch Shafiq Ahmad Thursday suspended Sandah SHO Inspector Afzaal Baig after registering a case against him on the charges of offering Rs 30,000 as bribe to Iqbal Town SP.
According to handout issued from the office of the SSP, the accused official has been locked up in Muslim Town police station.
SSP Ch Shafiq Ahmad had admonished the said SHO over patronising criminals during a meeting of Iqbal Town division a couple of days ago. On Thursday, the SHO visited the office of Iqbal Town SP Cap Suhail and offered him Rs 30,000 as bribe. The SP informed the SSP Operations about it, upon which, the SSP ordered registration of a case against the SHO and sent him behind bars. The SSP said the police force would be cleaned of black sheep.
Meanwhile, Gulberg police claimed to have arrested Soni Dacoit along with his four accomplices. Stolen items were also recovered from them.
The accused have confessed to 16 crime incidents. The arrested were identified as ringleader Aslam Masih alias Soni of Soni Dacoit Gang, Faheem, Shahbaz, Tariq Masih and Khurram.
