Karachi

The City District Government Karachi (CDGK) has added two more mega projects in the under-construction Signal-Free Corridor (SFC)-III, bringing the cost of the entire SFC-III project to Rs2.5billion.

This was stated on Saturday by City Nazim Mustafa Kamal during the inspection of development work on new projects at Shahrah-e-Quaideen.

Meanwhile, EDO Works & Services Rasheed Mughal briefed Kamal about the Signal-Free Corridor-III projects.

He said that the construction of a flyover and underpass at the Shahrah-e-Quaideen Roundabout was initiated to avoid traffic congestion. Both portions of underpass will have three-lane roads while the flyover will also have a three-lane road and a two-lane service road on both sides.

The EDO said that the projects were expected to be completed within two to two-and-a-half months.

Kamal said that a storm water drainage system should be included at Shahrah-e-Qaideen in front of Khudadad Colony.

He also directed to start work on the loop going inside the Central Prison Karachi’s boundary wall.

Nazim Karachi directed EDO Works and Services to immediately call for tenders for the installation of streetlights at all Signal-Free Corridor-III projects. He said that work on these projects should continue in three shifts.
