KARACHI: The CDGK has been facing various problems, especially a financial crisis, however, it has the capability to overcome these problems and even after the impediments, it will manage to complete the Signal Free Corridor-III (SFC-III) on time, City Nazim Mustafa Kamal said this during his inspection visit to the Preedy Street Phase of the SFC-III on Saturday.

Kamal said that for the first time in the history of Pakistan, the tradition of rapid development has been pioneered in the city in which any delays in the completion of the development projects are curbed.

He reiterated his resolve and asked the SFC-III team to keep working round the clock so that the project can be ready by June. “Around 75 percent of work on all SFC-III flyovers has been completed within two months, while work on Preedy Street is also nearing completion very rapidly,” revealed Kamal.

Talking about the Preedy Street affected families, he said that the Haq Parast leadership has, after overcoming hurdles, resolved the old issue of resettlement of 1,385 families in the Lines Area. The SFC-III is a unique project as the completion of Preedy Street had been delayed for the last 40 years and it was not an easy task to relocate 1,385 families, who were residing in the area for the past 62 years.

Kamal went on to say that the SFC-III related loop of the flyover at the Jail Roundabout goes down inside the prison’s boundary wall, which was a problem but it has also been resolved, as the barracks of prison employees are being constructed at another place. staff report
