ISLAMABAD (May 17 2009): Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Saturday sacked Dr Shoaib Suddle, Director General Intelligence Bureau (IB) and appointed Javed Noor, Inspector General of Azad Jammu Kashmir as new chief of the civil intelligence agency.

The Prime Minister also made a little shuffle in the bureaucracy and approved the transfers and postings of three federal secretaries, sources in the Establishment Division told Business Recorder. The decision surprises many as Suddle is considered a close associate of President Asif Ali Zardari who was accompanying the President during his US visit!

There was no reason given for removal of Dr Suddle as IB chief, where he was on contract after completion of his service. The Prime Minister also approved the posting of Justice Tanveer Ahmed as Secretary Law and Hafeezur Rehman as Secretary Youth Affairs, while Najeebullah Malik, former Chief Secretary Punjab has been appointed incharge secretary of the Ministry of Information Technology.
