Fatal accidents have reduced by 30% and non-fatal by 41.67% during last four months in the capital as compared to the same period in 2008, said SSP (Traffic) Dr. Sultan Azam Temuri while reviewing the four-month report on road accidents here on Tuesday.

The report on road accidents was presented to the SSP (Traffic), which revealed that during the first four months of 2008, 40 fatal and 44 non-fatal accidents occurred in the capital. Due to an effective strategy, the ratio of accidents reduced by 30% and 41.67% in fatal and non-fatal categories respectively in the same period during the current year.

Dr. Temuri, commenting on the report, stressed upon traffic police officials to provide safety to citizens through education of traffic laws and regulations and their effective enforcement. He directed officials that no violation should remain unchecked and no relaxation be given to anybody.
