HARIPUR: The district officer revenue (DOR), Haripur, Friday terminated the services of three patwaris for allegedly having fake educational certificates.

Sources said the district officer revenue and estate, Altafur Rehman, had on secret information regarding the fake educational credentials of local patwaris, or revenue officials, including Faisal Aftab of patwar halqa Sirikot, Amjad Shehzad of patwar halqa of Kot Najibullah and Waseem Ahmed of halqa patwar Pind Hashim Khan.

He ordered an inquiry and the report submitted to him suggested that Faisal Aftab managed to grab employment on fake Higher Secondary School Certificate, which was factually issued by the BISE Abbottabad in the name of one Babar Hussain in 1997.

Likewise, Amjad Shehzad and Waseem Ahmed had produced the certificates of Shahadatul Aalmia of a Mardan-based seminary, which was not a registered one. Following the inquiry report the DOR ordered termination of their services and sealing of official record. It may be recalled that these patwaris were appointed during the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) government and had been serving in different halqas for the last four years.
