KARACHI (April 23 2009): The Karachi Stock Exchange has decided to discontinue the deliverable futures contract market from April 20. In a notice issued here on Wednesday, the KSE said that the board of directors of the exchange took the decision on the instructions of Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and inline with the recommendations of the CFS Mk-II Review Committee.
The existing April 2009 contract will continue under the existing regulatory framework till its final settlement. However, now new contract shall be opened for May 2009 onward, the notice said.
