City Nazim Mustafa Kamal has directed the Works and Services Department to ensure the speedy completion of all projects of Signal-Free Corridor (SFC)-III so that the project can be completed and opened for traffic within the next two to two-and-a-half months.

He was reviewing the pace of work on the construction of Preedy Street and Jail Chowrangi Flyover during a visit on Friday. The city Nazim instructed the officials concerned to finish the work on Jail Chowrangi, Kashmir Road loop and Shaheed-e-Millat Ramp quickly so that the whole corridor could be opened for traffic simultaneously.

He said that 80 per cent of the traffic problems of the city would be solved after completion of this 18-kilometre-long corridor from Saddar to Malir Cantonment.

Kamal also directed the Executive District Officer (EDO) Works and Services to submit a daily report of the work on all SFC-III projects. He also instructed to take action against the contractor firm concerned, the consultant and the project director in case the report was not found satisfactory.

During a briefing, Kamal was informed that 45 per cent work on Preedy Street has been completed while work on the Jail Chowrangi Flyover is also 40 per cent complete. Both the projects will be opened for traffic after their completion in the next two months.
