LAHORE

FORMER governor of Punjab and veteran PPP leader Malik Ghulam Mustafa Khar has said that Asif Ali Zardari was not the successor of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and that Benazir Bhutto’ will nominating Asif and Bilawal as her political successors was fake and prepared after her death.

The Pakistan Peoples Party is a party of common man but those surrounding Asif Zardari are the followers of General Ziaul Haq, he told lawyer at Aiwan-e-Adal.

Khar said those currently at the helm of affairs of the PPP leadership were brought up and trained by Gen Ziaul Haq. Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani was also a minister in the cabinet of the military dictator who hanged ZA Bhutto, he said.

He said that Pakistan Peoples Party got votes in February 18 elections on the issue of liberation of judiciary and not for “Roti, Kapra aur Makan”.

He said the real rulers were those who didn’t have any bank accounts in foreign countries. He said he had remained a disciple of Benazir Bhutto and said he could pull the country out of the present day crises if given a chance to run state affairs for mere three months. “I should be beheaded if I fail to improve things,” he added.

Khar said the PM and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief Nawaz Sharif should restore judiciary without wasting any time, and the army must not interfere in restoration of judiciary.

He said that people would hold another long march from Karachi to Khyber if army interfered in judicial matters.

He said that Benazir Bhutto was striking a deal with Musharraf and she was murdered because of that deal.

The Pakistan Peoples Party and democracy were assassinated along with Benazir Bhutto, he added.

He said he had informed Benazir Bhutto that she could only be intimidated in Sindh but could be murdered in Punjab. He said the present government could not deliver any thing for in 90 days and would remain a failure even in 90 years.
