First 220kv transformer made in Pakistan
KARACHI: The first locally manufactured 220kV transformer rolled out at Siemens Industrial complex at SITE Wednesday. This was a landmark moment for the power industry and the first transformer was dispatched to WAPDA network after a simple ceremony attended by WAPDA and Siemens officials. Advisor to PEPCO, Saleem Arif congratulated Siemens on this milestone and said, “We expect power demand to rise substantially in the coming years and now we can depend on locally produced equipment, which was before imported from abroad”. Managing Director of Siemens Pakistan, Sohail Wajahat this roll out proved that the hard working people of Pakistan can achieve any target if they are provided with the resources, know-how and positive working environment. staff report
