THE LDA’s Commercialisation Directorate Wednesday fined the owners of the houses being used for commercial purposes without permission. The directorate imposed fine worth Rs 1.2 billion in this regard.

These residential buildings were located in Model Town Extension, Gulberg and Allama Iqbal Town. Meanwhile, the LDA also retrieved a plot from encroachers in Jauhar Town.

Meanwhile, the staff of Lahore Development Authority’s (LDA) Town Planning Wing has demolished seven buildings constructed in violation of buildings rules in different areas of the city.

A banquet hall and an under construction double storey buildings were demolished in B and L Blocks of Sabzazar Scheme. Two other buildings at Link Road Model Town and Allama Iqbal Town were also demolished. Similarly, an under construction plaza was demolished in D-Block Faisal Town while alteration of another building was also stopped.

In Garden Town, the Town Planning staff demolished upper portion of a house in Tipu Block, Garden Town. Moreover, a case has been registered against the house owner for offering resistance.
