Full Version: Karachi: CDGK to spend Rs7.5m on renovation of recreational facilities

The City District Government Karachi (CDGK) will spend a sum of Rs7.5 million on the provision of better recreation facilities to the citizens at the Safari Park, Gulshan-e-Iqbal. This was stated in a press release issued on Tuesday by the CDGK.

The spokesperson said that under the project an estimated Rs0.2 million each would be spent on the renovation and improvement work at Ellipse Lake and construction of public toilets at the Safari Park.

He added that the hill area at the Safari Park will also be made concrete by laying stones with an estimated cost of Rs1.2 million besides other works, including fixing of RCC benches at various places at the Safari Park, construction of Mountain Slide area, improvement and modification of existing pool converting for Paddle Boating, will also be done with an estimated cost of Rs1.9 million.

The improvement and rehabilitation of canopy area, renovation of Coconut Park, construction of a boundary wall along side the nursery, clearing of jungle in Karachi Water and Sewerage Board conduit area were also included in the project, he said.

The CDGK will also construct a Sabeel in front of the Safari Park, adding he said, tenders for the above works have been issued by the Community Development Group of Offices, he further said.
