ISLAMABAD: The Wafaqi Mohtasib on Tuesday directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) officials to appear before it along with record of ‘I-15 refund policy’ on August 19.

The Human Rights Society of Pakistan (HRSP) had approached the Mohtasib to direct the authority to apply the refund policy approved on February 8, 2008, with retrospective effect. However, the policy was not applied with retrospective effect and those refunded after deduction of 10 percent prior to the approval of the policy were ignored. The authority had cancelled over 300 plots and flats in Sector 1-15 last month.

The society had requested the Mohtasib to intervene into the matter, as the authority was not implementing its refund policy with retrospective effect. The policy envisages the refund of money along with interest after deduction of Rs 5,000 for unsuccessful allottees.

In its appeal, the society requested the Mohtasib to direct CDA to apply its ‘I-15 refund policy’ with retrospective effect and those who got refund before Feb 8, 2008 should also be refunded 10 percent, which had illegally been deducted.
