ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) has planned to develop media, education, IT, business, medical and sports cities in the town’s Zone IV, said a senior official on Tuesday.

The official said that each mini city would house offices, residences, shopping malls and hotels, and only professionals concerned would allotted plots there.

He said that establishment of mini cities would help in reducing non-conforming use of residential units in the capital. He said that media city would have plots for offices of media outlets, production houses and studios.

He said the CDA would build a modern stadium, gymnasium and a five-star hotel in sports city. He said that education institutions would be shifted to education city from the city’s residential areas.

The official said that the project’s launch was subject to approval of Islamabad master’s revised plan by the federal cabinet.

He said the CDA had hired a London-based firm to revise the master plan with a special focus on Zone IV. app
