Administrator, Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Brig. Kamran Aziz Qazi, has directed DHA and CBC officials to leave no stone unturned in ensuring speedy completion of the DHA storm water drainage project by July 31. He said this while reviewing the rain emergency measures in DHA in a meeting at DHA’s main office on Monday held with regard to the preparations for the forthcoming monsoon.

“Any segment of the constructed drain left uncompleted could jeopardise the efficacy of the entire drainage project,” the administrator warned the DHA and Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) officials.

He has ordered the placing of suction pumps along with standby generators in fully functional condition at strategic locations to ensure a speedy dewatering operation, said a press statement issued on Monday. He has also directed the CBC to arrange for the replacing of missing manhole covers on an emergency footing. Brig. Qazi has asked the DHA Vigilance committee to ensure effective sign posting at dug up sites to avoid any accident.
