LAHORE: Pakistani products need to have brand names to compete with India and China. Assistant Executive Director, Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Raymond Yip observed this in a meeting with business stakeholders here on Wednesday.

Accompanied by Director Global Exhibitions & Marketing Asad Sajjad, Raymond held meetings with the business stakeholders including Akhtar Nazir, Vice Chairman Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association, Waqar Rasheed, former Vice Chairman, Tariq Soni, Director Skills Sports Sialkot, Sarfraz Ahmed Chaudhary, Chairman Surgical Instruments Manufacturers Association of Pakistan-Sialkot, Tariq Ashfaq, Chief Executive Officer Care & Cure Surgico and Rafiq Raja, Chief Executive Combinations.

Talking to the business stakeholders, Raymond said that Hong Kong is a free market and the eleventh largest trading entity in the world and it is a gateway to other markets.

He urged the Pakistani businessmen to attain benefits from the Hong Kong business markets through export of their items. He appreciated the Pakistani hand-made carpets and sports goods while adding that its time for the world to know about Pakistan’s capabilities.

Raymond further informed the businessmen that his purpose of meeting them was to provide them assistance regarding export opportunities to Hong Kong.

The business persons informed Raymond about their export products respectively and showed their interest in participating in various exhibitions of different items scheduled to be held in Hong Kong in the proceeding calendar year.

Director TDAP Lahore Yasmeen Kuraishi also attended the meeting of Raymond and dilated upon TDAP’s role in boosting the country’s trade through different fairs and exhibitions abroad.
