ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue here on Tuesday decided to re-open the stock market crash 2005 investigation and constituted a five-member sub-committee. NA Committee met in the parliament house chaired by Fauzia Wahab. Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance, Shaukat Tareen, Minister of State for Finance, Hina Rabani Khar and Chairman Federal Board of Revenue, Ahmad Waqar were also present. According to the decision Aftab Shaban Mirani would head the sub-committee with Kashmala Tariq, Khawaja Asif, Rashid Godil and Riaz Fatiana are its members. The decision came in the wake of demand placed by majority of the members of committee especially Kashmala Tariq as she was of the view that 95 percent of investigation has already been completed. She stressed on the need for transparency of information and maintained that the nation should know who were the main beneficiaries of this crisis. She informed the committee that a foreign company has already spent some Rs 100 million on forensic investigation and issues need to be sorted out in detail. Agreeing to the demand, the chairperson of the committee constituted the sub-committee to re-open the stock market crash investigation. sajid chaudhry
