CDA to develop Junejo Colony as model village

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to develop Junejo Colony, Tarlai, as a model village.

The development work includes new sewage lines, installation of streetlights and repair of roads. The development work would cost Rs 7.30 million, said CDA Deputy Director Roads-III in a statement. He said tenders had been invited for award of contract of the work.

The CDA has also decided to auction off 32 lifts of Pak Secretariat on March 30.

The officials said an Australian firm installed those lifts at Pak Secretariat in 1960s. They said replacement of the lifts with new ones was necessary, as their malfunctioning on several occasions had caused inconvenience to very important personalities.

They said new lifts were being imported from Japan. They said so far 24 imported lifts had reached Karachi Dry Port, while other eight would reach in April. online
