ISLAMABAD: Higher Education Commission (HEC) has asked all the universities to provide it information regarding students, doing PhD, as it has decided to issue a directory, containing names of PhD degree holders from 1947 to 2008 for the protection of data and verification of degrees.
“The project will be approved in a meeting of (HEC) Board of Governors to be held on March 31,” said HEC Director Dr Riaz while talking to this agency on Sunday.
“Speedy work is in progress on the project and the commission would issue the names of PhD students in gazette form while all investigative data (thesis) would be provided on the website of the commission so that the new students could get access to the information and protect the data from plagiarism,” he maintained. online
