A writ petitioner here Tuesday prayed to the Islamabad High Court to move against Syed Sibtul Hassan Shah alias ‘Double Shah’ for not returning him an amount of Rs40 million and direct National Accountability Bureau for recovery of the money.

Mian Mukhtar Hussain Tarar through his counsel claimed that he gave an amount of Rs20 million to ‘Double Shah’ who assured to return him Rs40 million.

But the Lahore police arrested him in April 2007 in connection with different crimes and subsequently National Accountability Bureau also framed cases, he added.

He prayed to court to direct NAB authorities for the recovery of his money. The Registrar office told APP that a division bench of Chief Justice M. Bilal Khan and Justice Mohammad Ramzan Chaudhry would hear the case on Wednesday.

Syed Sibtul Hasan Shah, known as Pir Double Shah, was arrested from his Nazimabad house by Ghakkar Police in a Rs30,000 robbery case registered against him.

According to media reports Shah claimed to ‘double’ the money deposited with him in 70 days. People in northern Punjab were misled by the belief that he doubled billions of rupees of his clients. Majority of his clients were residents of Gujranwala, Gujrat, Wazirabad, Sialkot and Hafizabad.
