NANKANA SAHIB: As many as 85 Indian Sikh pilgrims on Friday reached Gurdawara Janamasthan to participate in the 88th death anniversary of Sardar Laxsman Singh. They would perform rituals, including Shabad Keertan and Bhog, besides visiting six other Gurdawaras in the city.
Meanwhile, talking to The News, Sardar Chetan Singh and Sardar Baladar Singh, group leaders of the Sikh pilgrims, said the Mumbai incident appeared to be a political game. They said the people of Pakistan and India were against war. They said the Pakistanis did not support terrorists. They thanked the Pakistani government and masses for giving a warm reception to them.
Muslim Sikh Federation chairman Sardar Manmohan Singh Khalasa said the Indian government involved Pakistan into the Mumbai episode without any reason and justification. He said the Indian government was promoting Hindus in the country. He said Sikhs and Kashmiris would soon get freedom from cruel India. Meanwhile, the district police have made stringent security measures to avoid any untoward incident. A large number of policemen have been deployed around the Gurdawaras and in different parts of the city.
