LAHORE: Pakistan’s tennis ace Aisamul Haq Qureshi made his mark in Belgrade, Serbia by reaching the doubles final of the $125,000 ATP World Challenger Championship on Friday. According to a spokesman for Aisam, the Pakistani prodigy, pairing with Lovro Zovko of Croatia, outplayed Alessadro Motti of Italy and Florin Mergea of Romania in straight sets 6-2, 6-2 and Bosnia-Serbia pair of Iliga Vucic and Mirza Basic after a thrilling match with a score of 7-6 (13), 6-3 to qualify for the final. “It is good to reach the finals of a big event and I am confident that we will be able to win the title,” said Aisam in his post match comments. In the final they will meet the German pair of Michael Kohlman and Philipp Marx.
