THE Estate Management Directorate of Lahore Development Authority has stopped construction work on 37 plots in Johar Town Phase-II area, and issued notices for presenting ownership documents to those responsible for building these structures. The Lahore Development Authority has decided to launch a crackdown against them in case they fail to produce the relevant documents.

The staff of Estate Management Directorate, LDA, also retrieved plot No.6 C-II, Johar Town, measuring seven marlas which was illegally occupied by constructing a boundary wall. The Estate Management Directorate also launched a massive operation against shanties in Mustafa Town Housing Scheme while it had completed its operation against squatters in Sabzazar, clearing the area of more than 1500 shanties and 900 illegal structures.

Meanwhile, the Town Planning Wing of LDA continued its operation against the violation of building by-laws and demolished as many as 15 buildings and structures in different housing schemes.

The town planning staff demolished a basement that was being constructed on plot No. 797-N Sabzazar without getting an approval for the building plan. They also demolished illegal construction on plot No.781-N besides razing four shops that were being illegally constructed on residential plot No.386-K.

The LDA staff launched an operation against illegal constructions in Quaid-e-Azam area and demolished 12 structures in various sectors of Township that had been constructed in violation of building by-laws or without getting approved.
