Some newly-built houses in Sector I-10/4 have no sewerage line of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) available to dispose of their wastewater and refuse by means of sewers.

Owners of seven newly-constructed small houses located on the Service Road (East), Sector I-10/4, have appealed to CDA Chairman Tariq Mehmood to intervene into the matter because they were in trouble due to non-availability of sewerage line.

In a letter signed by the owners of house numbers 1304, 1306 to 1309, 1312 and 1313, they said the main sewerage line did not exist in front of their houses.

They have handed over the letter to the CDA member (engineering) for prompt action.

“We believe a contract has been awarded to some contractor for extension of the existing sewerage line to around newly-created plots for the CDA employees on the rear side of our plots and the work is in progress,” the letter said. “We request to extend the scope of ongoing work thereby advising the contractor, who is already engaged in the same area, to extend the main sewerage line to our houses as well.”

These owners pointed out that invitation of new offers for the work in the same area will take a considerable time and they will not be able to move to their houses for a long time.

They urged the CDA chief to order immediate extension of the main sewerage line to their houses so that they will be able to promptly move to their premises.
