The residents of Kamalabad and Dhoke Syedan have hailed the announcement of Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan with regard to approval of a grant of Rs20 million for carpeting of roads in the two localities.

The carpeting of Kamalabad and Dhoke Syedan roads will start in the last week of February. It will be completed within one month.

President Anjuman-e-Tajran Kamalabad and Dhoke Syedan Road Shahid Mahmood told ‘The News’ that people have been facing problems due to dilapidated condition of roads. According to him, most of the time traffic remained choked on Kamalabad and Dhoke Syedan roads due to their dilapidated condition. He hoped that business would once again pick up momentum in the two localities after carpeting of roads.

Khurram Pervez, a resident of Kamalabad, said that they staged many protests for road repair in the past but all in vain. After road repair people would be able to move easily on roads, he added.

Nourin Raza said that taxi drivers and other transporters are reluctant to go to Kamalabad and Dhoke Syedan due to dilapidated roads.

Noor Khan, a Suzuki driver, hailed the announcement and hoped that the work on all roads would be completed on time.
