Cold and flu ‘can affect driving’

Daily Times Monitor

LAHORE: A research conducted for Lloyds TSB Insurance on Saturday revealed that drivers with colds on average scored 11 percent worse than healthy ones – a number equivalent to the effect of a double whisky.

One hundred drivers with a range of conditions including colds, stress and headaches, and 50 who were healthy, were put through a hazard simulator test.

Experts said being ill could affect driving and the ability to react in emergencies.

The study, carried out by PCP research agency, said ‘try to avoid driving if you’re suffering from a cold or flu”.
