The allotment of 200 plots of Gulshan-e-Roomi, near Malir Cantt was handed over to their original owners at a ceremony held on Tuesday under the aegis of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Sindh.

The Gulshan-e-Roomi project was launched by Humair Associates in 1978 comprising 2,600 plots. The project was scheduled for completion in 1983, but even after a lapse of about 31 years, the plots were not handed over to the original allottees. The aggrieved allottees had lodged complaints with NAB Sindh, which initiated an inquiry into the case in 2008. After taking possession of the record of the case from the developer and conducting a formal inquiry, the developer finally came forward to handover the physical possession of the plots to the allottees. The NAB Sindh facilitated the process, and the project developer gave an undertaking, under which he obliged to hand over the plots to the allottees at the original rates.
