Islamabad High Court’s Justice Muhammad Munir Paracha Wednesday issued a notice to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) for failing to protect natural watercourses in Sector E-11.

According to Dr. Aslam Khaki, the petitioner, these courses have been encroached upon by the housing societies. He stated that these natural watercourses are public property and are taken care like public parks as per bylaws of the CDA. Housing societies in sector E-11 are violating these rules by encroaching upon the spaces at both sides of the brooks filling the area with material. The court has adjourned the hearing till 26th of this month.

In another case, the division bench of IHC comprising Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Aslam and Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan directed the senior civil judge of Islamabad to issue the arrest warrants of Manager Operation Shahid Majeed of National Highways Authority (NHA).

Petitioner Qasim Mehmood had applied for a no-objection certificate to install a CNG gas station but his application was turned down by the manager operation.

He then filed a writ petition before the IHC in this regard. Manager Operation Shahid Majeed was issued notices to appear before the court that he did not. The IHC however directed a civil judge to issue his arrest warrants and present him before the court on January 26.
