THE staff of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) launched another massive operation against the encroachments at Main Boulevard, Gulberg, and demolished more than 40 structures that had been illegally built along the left side of the road leading to Main Market from Siddique Trade Centre on Tuesday.
The staff of the Town Planning Wing and Estate Management Directorate of the Lahore Development Authority jointly carried out this operation and razed a number of platforms, ramps and other structures that had been constructed in the front line of restaurants and shops, in violation of the building regulations.
All these encroachments were causing impediments in movement by pedestrians, flow of traffic as well as quick disposal of rainwater from the market. The LDA’s anti-encroachment drive is going on in its scheme area and utility area of private housing schemes.
