ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to install automatic bollards at 30 different points, mostly in the Red Zone, as part of security measures. In the second phase of the project, the CDA would install more bollards in other parts of the city, aiming to solve traffic problems created by erection of concrete blocks on various roads, a senior CDA official told Daily Times on Monday. He said the places for installation of bollards had been identified by the CDA and Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP). He said the CDA had hired a Spanish company to set up the bollards. He said the company had informed the CDA that bollards had been designed so that a vehicle could hardly be damaged after hitting them. He said the bollards could be controlled with remote controls. fazal sher
