DIRECTOR General Lahore Development Authority Shahid Mahmood has directed for expediting installation of 69 new tube-wells besides immediately commencing desilting of drains and sewer lines in the city.

He was chairing a meeting at WASA headquarters on Saturday. Managing Director WASA Dr. Javed Iqbal, three deputy managing directors and all the directors and deputy directors of the operation wing of Water and Sanitation Agency were present.

He directed for widely publicizing the toll free help line telephone number of WASA 1334 for registering and rectifying public complaints regarding water-supply and sanitation without delay.

He underlined the need for deputing proficient and courteous staff in the complaint cell for coming up to the expectations of the consumers.

He asked M.D. Water and Sanitation Agency for personally supervising the functioning of complaint cell for this purpose.

He urged the Water and Sanitation Agency officers as well as officials of all ranks for working with commitment and dedication with a view to transforming WASA into a vibrant and commendable public service organization.

All the human and material resources should be kept in excellent working condition, he required.

The D.G. Lahore Development Authority solicited for ensuring placement of manhole covers within the service area of Water and Sanitation Agency besides asking for monitoring the performance of security agencies deputed for safeguarding the covers.

He directed for terminating contracts of agencies showing dissatisfactory performance in this regard.
