Islamabad: Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched a crack down against violators of building control regulations in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), Chairman CDA Tariq Mehmood Khan said Friday.

Talking to a TV channel, he said, around 800 complaints have been registered with CDA in the last two months in connection with violation of building control regulations in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).

Over 80 buildings are being used as guest houses or schools, etc in residential areas have either been sealed, vacated or even cancelled the plots in a period of last two months, he said. A steering committee has also been constituted to ensure the implementation of building control regulations in its true letter and spirit.

CDA has also purchased fire-fighting equipment worth Rs700 million aiming to ensure effective tackling of future disasters, he added.
