KARACHI: Federal Communication Minister Dr Arbab Alamgir said on Monday that the collapsed Shershah Bridge will be reconstructed within seven to nine months at an estimated cost of Rs 274 million. Addressing a press conference at the National Highway Authority Head Office, he said that action will be initiated within a fortnight against all those held responsible for the collapse of this bridge by the Inquiry Commission. The minister said that all roads from M-1 to M-10 will be completed by the year 2015. He further said that the M-4 that will cost around Rs 40 billion and will be funded by Asian Development Bank will be inaugurated in the second week of January 2009. Alamgir said that the ministry’s current income generated by toll tax stood at Rs 7.5 billion annually and said this can be increased by 40-50 percent through transparency. app
