Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan directed the relevant authorities to start construction work on the Dir Motorway, according to news published on January 21.

Swat, Dir Motorway projects: CM directs early land allotment to PKHA

CM Khan, during a meeting held for reviewing progress on Dir Motorway, highlighted the importance of the project, stating that it is a major move towards sustainable development in the district and nearby areas. He mentioned that there must not be any delay in the execution of the project. He further added that all the prerequisites such as land acquisition should be completed within a stipulated time in order to start the civil work.

The news source reported that the CM disclosed that the provincial government has taken visible steps to strengthen revenue-generating sectors, align the social services sector with contemporary needs, and improve road networks. CM Khan said that once the projects will be completed, the province will become a transit corridor for commerce activities and regional trade.

It is pertinent to note that Dir Motorway is a 30-kilometre long four-land highway, starting from Chakdar Interchange in Malakand to the Baroon area in Lower Dir through Ramial and Och villages with 50 metres right of way.
