Lahore Master Plan declared undeveloped 33,000 acres of housing projects as green space
LAHORE: According to the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), 33,000 acres of undeveloped brown areas land designated or approved for housing projects have been added to the green areas in the Lahore Master Plan-2050. (Reported by news source)

LDA Director General Aamir Ahmad Khan said, we have taken 27,000 acres out of the undeveloped brown regions in the north side of Lahore (Kala Shah Kaku and Muridke sides in Sheikhupura district) and designated them as green ones for agricultural purposes. Another 6,000 acres of the brown land along the Bambawali-Ravi-Bedian Canal have also been acquired and given for green spaces or national strategic policies.

12,000 acres of additional land that were never thought of as brown areas but had to be designated as such in order to accommodate southward growth and rising demand were eventually included for the first time.

The Lahore city alone would have 25 million residents by 2050, according to the consultants' survey of 30,000 houses in the Lahore division.
